Choose the type of collar you ordered, paired with the width of collar and the hardware colour you would like to upgrade to and add it to your cart. All hardware pieces note in the infographic for that collar type will be upgraded to that metal hardware. Please order one upgrade per collar.
Please note the following:
- Metal buckles are plated metal alloy buckles
- Metal buckles are much heavier than plastic and add significantly more weight to the collar, especially for smaller pups and seniors.
- Metal buckles get very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. Keep this in mind in consistent cold/hot climates and short haired pups!
- Metal buckles tend to jingle as they move around and the pieces make contact, especially after they are worn in.
- Metal buckles do not need as much pressure to unbuckle them, as plastic buckles do. On the very rare occasion, they can open on their own with just the right jostle, especially after they are worn in.
- Metal hardware may have small imperfections on them, such as tiny nicks or scratches. All metal buckles are treated with a metal polish to ward off any tarnish.
- Metal buckles are very stylish, but don't choose style over your pup's comfort!
