Pooch & Tabby products are handmade for their intended everyday use. As with all pet accessories, products can be damaged through excessive force, chewing, biting, scratching, pulling, improper use or other circumstances beyond their intended purpose.

Important Safety Information

Our products are not designed or intended for tie-outs, tethering, unattended restraint, or pulling additional weight beyond the pet's own weight. A collar should not be used as a substitute for equipment specifically designed for tie-outs or tethering.

 

Pets can be unpredictable, particularly when left unattended. Removable accessories, including bow ties, flowers and other detachable items, should only be worn while your pet is supervised. Do not leave products where your pet may chew, swallow or otherwise damage them.

Please inspect your pet's products regularly for signs of wear, damage or deterioration. This includes checking webbing, stitching, buckles, hardware and any attached components.

Stop using a product if it becomes damaged, excessively worn or otherwise appears unsafe, and replace it as needed.

The suitability of a product can vary depending on the individual pet, including its size, strength, behaviour and activity level.

 

Customers are responsible for selecting an appropriate product and size for their pet and for using the product according to its intended purpose.

No pet accessory is indestructible. Damage caused by chewing, biting, scratching, excessive pulling, misuse, improper use or other behaviour is not considered normal wear and may not be covered under our Returns & Exchanges Policy.

Product Testing and Construction

Pooch & Tabby selects materials and hardware based on the intended use of each product and takes care during construction to provide durable handmade pet accessories.

Our products are designed for their stated intended use, but no pet accessory can be guaranteed to withstand every animal, circumstance or amount of force.

Care Instructions

Collars and Leashes

Most collars and leashes can be hand washed or machine washed on a gentle cycle using cold water.

​

If using a washing machine, place the item in a mesh laundry bag. Air dry only.

​

For spot cleaning, use a soft toothbrush to gently remove mud, dirt and other debris.

​

Bow Ties, Flowers and Other Accessories

Gently hand wash or spot clean removable accessories as needed.

​

Allow items to air dry completely before use.

​

Because these items may contain detachable components, they should only be worn while your pet is supervised.

​

Regular Inspection

Pet products should be inspected regularly, particularly after exposure to water, dirt, outdoor conditions or heavy use.

​

Check for:

• fraying or damage to webbing or fabric;

• loose or damaged stitching;

• cracks, damage or deformation in buckles or hardware;

• loose or damaged attachments; and

• any other change that could affect the product's condition or intended use.

Safety concerns and potential defects will be reviewed in accordance with our Returns & Exchanges Policy and, where applicable, any other requirements under applicable law.
