• We offer a range of widths per size because your pup's needs aren't the same as the next. Most companies limit you to one width per size, but we know your small dog may have a longer neck and needs a wider collar or your bigger dog is more comfortable in a thinner width. We let YOU choose what works for them.

 

• Especially if this is your first time ordering from Pooch & Tabby, it's important to get an accurate neck measurement to see where it fits into our size chart. Remember, there is no standardization for sizes in the pet collar industry, so each company decides their own sizes. It's best to measure your pup vs. measuring their current collar, as the way you measure a collar may not be the way we measure, and determine our sizes. 

 

•  If your pup's measurement falls just outside of a size range or at the very end, we can add an extra inches or take them away to accommodate your pet's specific size, especially if your pup is no longer growing. For example, the small size adjusts from 9 - 13" and the medium adjusts from 12 - 19". If your pup is an adult and has a 14" neck, rather than get a medium and have 5" of extra bulk, we can make your pup a custom size that extends to 16" to ensure a comfortable fit, at no extra charge. 

 

• Never order a collar where the end measurement exactly matches your pup's neck measurement. Since a collar should be worn to allow two finger wiggle room, you want to ensure the collar can be adjusted bigger and smaller than their exact meaurement. 

 

• Please note: Buckle Martingales have a shorter adjustment range and does not follow the standard collar sizing. Each buckle martingale is made custom to your dog's neck measurement. The minimum neck measurement for a 3/4" is 13", for a 1" collar is 14" and for a 1.5" collar is 15".

• We use quality designs. The majority of our collars are made from gorgeous cotton prints or polyester woven ribbon designs. We look for fun and bright prints from notable designers around the world for a higher grade material. We back our fabric material with thick Pellon brand interfacing for structure and durability. We only use Gutermann polyester thread and have over 200 colours to match your design. 

 

• Each collar is backed with a special strong and soft heavy duty polypropylene webbing (not the cheap scratchy stuff). It's lighter than nylon and doesn't absorb water, which means it dries quicker and won't stink like nylon after time. Polypropylene was made for outdoor applications - Rain, snow and sun, and is resistant to rot, mold, mildew, UV rays and will not stretch.

 

• Our black plastic buckles are quality National Molding Weinerlock buckles from their Duraflex division. National Molding is the leading buckle maker in North America, producing buckles for body armor and tactical gear for the U.S. Military and law enforcement.

 

• Our metal buckles are brass plated or nickel plated steel, except our 1.5" nickel metal buckle, which is made of aluminum for a lighter feel and super shiny look.  Metal buckles are much heavier than plastic and add significantly more weight to the collar, especially for smaller pups, puppies and seniors. Metal buckles get very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. Keep this in mind in consistently cold/hot climates and for short haired pups!  Metal hardware may have small imperfections on them, such as tiny nicks or scratches.

 

• Processing Time:  Please allow 3-7 business days to prepare your order to ship. All items are handmade to order and ship from Ontario, Canada.  Our business days are Monday through Friday and exclude weekends & holidays.

 

• Orders can be cancelled up to 2 days after purchase. Orders go into production after 2 days and cannot be cancelled past this time frame.

 

• Currently we do not offer exchanges or returns. Because we offer a variety of widths, sizes and hardware options, each item is made to order and therefore considered custom. We stand by the quality hardware and materials we use. If your item was received with an issue, please contact us!
